Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Effective Date: March 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the "Contacts" application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App and remove it from your device.
2. App Description and Purpose
The App is an Android utility designed to serve as your device's default phone handler, dialer, and contact manager. It provides features to view, create, and edit contacts, manage call logs, and initiate or receive phone calls.
3. Permissions and Device Access
To provide its core functionality, the App requires you to grant specific system permissions and set it as your default phone handler. By using the App, you consent to its use of the following device features:
Telephony & Calling: Making and answering phone calls, and reading your phone's state (CALL_PHONE, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS, READ_PHONE_STATE).
Contacts & Call Logs: Reading and modifying your saved contacts and call history (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS, READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG).
System Alerts & UI: Displaying incoming call screens over other apps and waking the device (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, WAKE_LOCK).
Audio & Hardware: Adjusting audio settings, routing to Bluetooth, and vibrating (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, VIBRATE).
Background Services: Maintaining active calls in the background with persistent notifications (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, POST_NOTIFICATIONS).
4. Data Privacy and Local Processing
The App relies exclusively on local device storage to manage your communication data. Based on the App's integrated architecture, it does not utilize any third-party analytics, tracking, or cloud-syncing SDKs. The INTERNET permission is used strictly for internal app functions, not for transmitting your personal contacts or call logs to external servers.
5. Third-Party Libraries
The App incorporates standard, open-source Android development libraries to function, including tools for user interface design (Material, ConstraintLayout), image loading (Glide), animations (Lottie), and asynchronous processing (RxJava). These libraries operate locally and do not harvest user data.
6. Emergency Services Disclaimer
CRITICAL: The App acts purely as a user interface for your device's built-in cellular hardware. It is not an independent telecommunications network. We do not guarantee the successful connection of emergency calls (e.g., 911, 112). You must ensure you have a reliable, alternative method to contact emergency services in the event of software failure, battery depletion, or network unavailability.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable laws. You must not use the App to harass, spam, defraud, or conduct any illegal activities.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be free from bugs, crashes, or interruptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of the App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including but not limited to missed calls, lost data, or device malfunction—arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the App following any changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
11. Contact
