By downloading, installing, or using the Contacts application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the App, and delete it from your device immediately.
2. App Description and Purpose
The App is an Android utility designed to function as your device's default phone handler, dialer, and contact manager. It provides features to view, create, and edit contacts, manage call history, and initiate or receive phone calls directly on your device.
3. Permissions and Device Access
To provide its core functionality, the App requires specific system permissions and may require being set as your device's default phone handler. By using the App, you consent to its use of the following permission groups:
Telephony & Calling (CALL_PHONE, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS, READ_PHONE_STATE): To initiate outgoing calls, accept incoming calls, and detect call states in real-time.
Contacts & Call Logs (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS, READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG): To display and manage your address book and recent call history locally on your device.
System Alerts & Notifications (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT, POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To present full-screen incoming call UI over other apps, deliver persistent call status notifications, and send system alerts.
Network & Advertising (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, AD_ID): To facilitate internet connectivity required for serving advertisements, collecting crash reports, and delivering push notifications.
System & Hardware (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, VIBRATE): To restart necessary background call-handling components when your device boots up and trigger haptic feedback for incoming calls or interactions.
4. Data Privacy and Local Storage
Your personal communication data—specifically your contacts and call logs—is processed strictly on your local device. We do not upload, host, sync, or sell your contacts or call history on external servers.
However, internet connectivity is utilized by integrated third-party frameworks to deliver advertisements, process anonymous crash logs, manage app configurations, and gather general app performance analytics.
5. Third-Party SDKs and Services
The App incorporates modern software development tools and third-party services to enhance stability, performance, and monetization, including:
Google AdMob: Delivers personalized or non-personalized advertisements within the App using device advertising identifiers (AD_ID).
Google Firebase: Provides infrastructure for cloud messaging, remote configuration, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and app analytics.
Open-Source & System Libraries: Development frameworks including Android Jetpack Compose, Room Database, Retrofit, OkHttp, Gson, and Lottie animations.
Your interactions with third-party services integrated into the App are governed by the respective terms and privacy policies of those providers (e.g., Google Terms of Service).
6. Emergency Services Disclaimer
CRITICAL: The App acts solely as a software user interface for your device's underlying cellular telephony hardware. It is not an independent voice-over-IP (VoIP) or telecommunications network provider. While the App is designed to handle calls via your mobile carrier, we cannot guarantee the successful connection of emergency calls (e.g., 911, 112, 999, 108). You must maintain an alternative, reliable method to contact emergency services in case of software malfunction, hardware failure, battery depletion, or network unavailability.
7. User Responsibilities
You agree to use the App solely for lawful purposes and in compliance with all local, national, and international laws. You agree not to use the App to engage in automated dialer spam, illegal call spoofing, harassment, or fraudulent activity.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure from external hardware or OS failures.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers, owners, and affiliates of the App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages—including but not limited to missed calls, loss of data, corrupted contacts, or device malfunction—arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. Continued use of the App following any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
